dc.description.abstract | This study was on welfare policies and teachers’ productivity in selected UPE schools in Paya sub-county, Tororo District. It was guided by three specific objectives; To examine the significance of provision of housing on the productivity of teachers in UPE schools in Paya Sub-County Tororo District, to establish how provision of lunch to teachers in UPE schools impacts on teacher’s productivity in Paya Sub-County Tororo District and to examine how provision of Parents Teachers Allowances (PTA) impacts on teacher’s productivity in UPE schools in Paya Sub- County Tororo District. The study employed a cross sectional design were both qualitative and quantitative approaches were adopted. The study population comprised of 58 respondents from which only 53 was selected to participate in the study. Both simple random and purposive sampling techniques were used in the selection of the study respondents. Both secondary data and primary data was collected. The researcher reviewed other already written literature from text books, journals, magazines and internet to gather secondary data, questionnaire and interview guide was used in gathering of primary data. Therefore, it is recommended that ministry and school management should provide enough resources, training sessions, constant inspections, promotions and appraisal of the staff so as to attain high quality service delivery by teachers. | en_US |
